On Sunday, the <a href="https://bluejaysnation.com/">Toronto Blue Jays</a>&#8216; Double-A affiliate, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, gave up a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth. They haven’t allowed a run since.

Alex Amalfi was the last pitcher to give up a run for the Fisher Cats. In the bottom of the seventh, Johnathan Lavallee pitched an inning with a strikeout. Conor Larkin put three runners on, but got out of it unscathed, and Justin Kelly struck out and walked a batter in the bottom of the ninth for a 9-4 victory.

At this point, it wasn’t anything of note, but the Fisher Cats started a new series against the Altoona Curve on Tuesday. That game ended 4-0 for the Fisher Cats, as Ryan Watson pitched six and two-thirds innings with two hits allowed and nine strikeouts. Hunter Gregory got the final seven outs to pick up his fourth save of the season. At that point, their streak reached 12.

Wednesday’s game was also a shutout, with the Fisher Cats winning 3-0. <a href="https://bluejaysnation.com/news/blue-jays-prospect-spotlight-catching-up-with-devereaux-harrison-ahead-of-his-fourth-professional-season">Devereaux Harrison</a> pitched six innings, giving up two hits, three walks, and striking out five. Geison Urabez struck out three while walking a batter in his two innings of work. Larkin picked up his third save of the season to extend the Fisher Cats’ streak to 21 innings.

And then on Thursday, the Fisher Cats shut out the Curve for the third consecutive game, scoring two runs. Like Watson and Harrison, <a href="https://bluejaysnation.com/news/toronto-blue-jays-prospect-juaron-watts-brown-called-new-hampshire-2025-breakout">Juaron Watts-Brown</a> pitched six innings, giving up one hit while walking three and striking out five. Nate Garkow pitched a clean inning, and Amalfi, the last Fisher Cat to give up a run, went two innings with two strikeouts.

Funnily enough, the Fisher Cats had their own lengthy scoreless drought during the 2023 season. After Josh Kasevich hit an RBI single in the top of the seventh on July 19th, the Fisher Cats were shut out for four consecutive games to bring their scoreless streak to 38 innings. After 39 innings, the Fisher Cats finally scored a run to end that brutal stretch.
It’s nice to see the Fisher Cats on the right end of it this time around. They return to action on Thursday at 6:35 PM ET, with Rafael Sanchez expected to start for them. The 25-year-old didn’t have a great start in his last game, giving up 10 runs, eight earned, in three and one-third innings. Let’s hope they can continue their shutout streak!
